Here the 21st century....

" Here the 21st century, examples of new themes for design include sustainability and information technology. I have no objection to those approaches. "

Yoshiharu Tsukamoto, Japanese architect described the architectural design in the 21st century on the magazine;SHINKENCHIKU (no.9/2001)
In my opinion, there are no doubt that the evolution of sustainable architecture is necessary and indispensable to us. The architect should think about natural environment and energy in this century. On the other hand, It is very difficult to approve two ways, working every day and to approach on environmental problems especially for popular architect such as Yoshiharu Tsukamoto. He described as follows on same magazine as well.

"However, in real work, it is not easy to come up with good ideas for things that are sustainable "to the greatest extent possible" that do not also demonstrate deep flaws, much less for how information technology is to be linked to architecture. Even while attempting such things, work must continue, and so our designs are increasingly determined by trivial everyday things, such as the client's intentions, preferences, styles, budgets, site conditions, and functional purposes. We have no words with which to answer the criticism that we are merely floating on reality. "

Do you know that I, I means Masako is student who have a enough time to think? I must know that I am really lucky because of I have much more free time compare with professional architects who have a lot of work. FUN FUN FUN
By the way, I watched "Grand Designs", TV shows on Tuesday 8:30pm, which my teacher recommended me. There were some new challenges and interesting points and new challenges there. Although I have some questions and I might not be able to consent. .

Todays house is very simple. The main structure of that house is solid timber panels and the most important parts is special windows which are able to hea the house with infrared radiation. Almost half the house is timber cube and another half is walled in glass. The TV show told me that this system could be helpful to save running energy. It is surprising information because generally windows leak heat. Interesting but strange.... I couldn't understand well why is it sustainable. Is it really good way? (I think that I missed important information ...maybe..I have to study English more.) Something just I can say clear is that I like minimalism. So that I feel that the house is cool.

Anyway I have to study English and Architecture. Fun Fun Fun :)
